This presentation will be given by Jarno Mooren, Plant Specialist Vertical Farming at Philips Horticulture LED Solutions. Jarno is driven by a passion for sustainable food production and a desire to make a positive impact on the environment. I’m motivated by the challenge of developing innovative solutions that can help feed a growing global population with fresh and healthy food, and by the opportunity to collaborate with other experts in the field to make a real difference.
He foresees that advances in LED lighting technology will provide more precise control over light spectra and intensity to improve quality, yield, and energy management.
About Jarno Mooren
MSc in Plant Sciences from Wageningen University and BSc in Applied Biology from HAS University of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. For Signify I am actively involved in a number of projects at the forefront of vertical farming and doing research at the GrowWise Research Center. This includes working closely with many leading stakeholders to the industry, such as suppliers of technology, global seed companies and substrate producers for optimizing the production, quality and total system efficiency in vertical farming systems. Currently his work focuses on the cultivating high-wire and dwarf tomato plants in a vertical farming system.
